The Empire Strikes Back - Posted by Al

After weeks of disrupting sigils, Minax today mounted their first serious defense in a long time and successfully repelled all attacks - CoM SL and TB to retake Delucia, Minoc and Yew, and secure Brit, leaving the TBs with no towns.

Despite SL also defending sigils during the day, most of the fighting was at Minax HQ, with the TBs reluctant to attack thier allies, yet despite a days hard fighting the outnumbered yet determined Minax secured all four sigils, then went out raiding.

For many hours last night Britain was held by Minax forces, without the use of town guards, then later in the evening, as always, our enemies had to ally against us to defeat us, then, predictably enough as mianx began to take casualties, TBs were camping the ress-hut... up until we placed 5 dragoons there, then they stopped resskilling and started to whine about it.

Alliance Continue to gain ground- Posted by Harry

Several hard days of fighting have left Mianx battle weary and only the capitol city to their name. TB have continued to repeatably take the sigils from minax with vastly superior numbers of both men and dragons, yet each day Minax have at some point regained the Brit sigil long enough to disrupt it.

Accusations of server-up raids have been widespread, but each time Minax have raided in peak time, has resulted in rear attacks on advancing Minax troops by SL in support of their TB allies.

Alliance Takes towns- Posted by Al

Despite taking sigils all week, Minax have been unable to hold onto them for a full 24hours, and have steadily lost ground to the emerging TB/SL alliance. As the numbers showed at the election times, Minax are now the second smallest faction, with only a small gap between them and shadowlords, the smallest.

Allying in both defense and offense, with a combined numerical advantage of 238 -97 the organised, but outnumbered minax troops have been fighting an up-hill battle which they look set to lose this weekend as the TB trammel horde logs on to bolster the already large alliance.

What about the 214 Com? Although on sheer wieght of numbers CoM seem the largest faction on the block, there has been little-no sigil related activity from the island of Magincia, with no leadership of any note to explain why.

8 Sigils in base... - Posted by Harry

This-morning saw some fine action from a small but tight Minax team taking out a numerically superior SL force at their crypts HQ and coming home with their sigils as the spoils of war. Regardless of peoples opinions on morning raids, both sides were evenly matched on dragons, and SL had slightly more people at base than attackers -Minax as usual having to split forces between defense and offense.

The battle lasted 15 mins or so with reinforcements trickling in (1 on each side) as the combat progressed through the crypts. Great work by GoodGuy, Keen, eXplorer X, & Myst, with a late arrival of Squeegee, and on defence, Konkle and DaMage did some brave work against our tamers, yet the question has to be asked why Rowar hid in the sigil room and didn't try to take Myst out to buy the defenders more time. Either way was a tense fight, between the two smallest factions, niether one afraid to play for sigils on a 24hour clock.

Can minax hold them thru peack time... watch this space!

MinaX offensive continues to take towns - Posted by Myst

As the server goes down after another day's fighting, the six available sigils sit atop MinaX monoliths, in the base of a faction that already controls seven out of eight towns, with only the ShadowLords holding any other cities - Yew. Respect today went out to the HoH sigil team for a series of fast, daring raids into both COM and TB strongholds to extract and deliver the prized sigils back into Minax hands, whilst the majority of our forces were active on defence. Despite CoM and TB holding sigils for most of the day into the evening, the majority of raids were being made agaisnt our own fortress - one joint attack by allied factions was even made during the hours we held no sigils ;-)

The talk on the boards has been of deals over server-up stealing and faction numbers.

In response to many external plea's to put an end to server-up stealing, and after talking to several Mainx leaders, a proposal was put together as a working document on a solution to the problem.

News from the front- Posted by Al

Fighting continued throughout the day at Minax Base as TB SL and CoM tried to take control of the Trinsic Sigil, and at the same time launched a series of raids into Britain to take out TB town guards. Lacking the manpower to both attack and defend, it wasn't until Late tonight that a Strike Team (GoodGuy, Falgor & Dorien Hawkmoon) were able to take over the TB stronghold long enough for myst to relieve them of the burden of guarding the Brit sigil, and deliver it safely to Minax HQ.

Whilst scouting the TB castle one of our ghosts overheard several interesting conversations, unmasked 1 icq spy, 1 Minax Spy, and some revealing information on the Leader of the TTB guild

All 4 Factions have towns!- Posted by Harry

As the dust settles after another day's fighting, for the first time in a long time, all four factions hold towns. Minax continue to reassert themselves as the dominant power with the majority of the towns taken back, yet even the Shadowlords were able to secure themselves a town, and CoM remain with with only one remaining out of the 8 they had a few days ago.

The True Brits have been very vocal in public claiming the use of unfair tactics, bugs, exploits and all manner of underhand methods by Minax, yet have been proven incorrect in all such accusations, and the world is still asking why TB cannot control more towns given that they are the largest faction, control their home town of brit, and its vast silver resources to hire guards, the only thing the TBs have corrupted lately seems to be the truth.

The Counter Offensive Begins - Posted by Harry

Late Last night, and again early this-morning, (early save) Minax Forces engaged in a long battle with TBs defending their 5 sigils. Initially the 2-man DDi team (Cateweazle & Good Guy) took on the TB town guards, then with the addition of a 3rd DDi (Myst) took out the TB defenders and made it home with the sigils, whilst Braveduke guarded base. I must applaud the determination of one of the TB's - 'Alvo' despite all his faction-mates logging off and giving up, Alvo managed to continue a personal War against the 4 Minax online throughout the morning.

As the day progressed the number of dragons in base increased and there was little serious challenge to our corruption of the magincia sigil. At the close of play, we have 4 sigils in base, and hope to corrupt them shortly after server up.

In shocking news today, and following a long period of downtime, and rumors of a hardware revert on Europa, the True Brits managed to corrupt and place their hometown Sigil, breaking CoMs hold over all 8 towns only 2 days after they took them.

Minax news reports several tamers joining up - veteran Minax followers adapt to the changing style of the war to overcome the Draconian threat from the Council of Mages, and as the week progresses Minax hope to be to retake towns lost and reestablish themselves as the dominant faction, despite Minax once more being the 2nd smallest on Europa.

Minax becomes a Theocracy - Posted by Harry

As a result of a very strange election race, after Harry got kicked out of the voting list by a reset bug, (Apparently the new style of elections are tied into the buggy score code, and affected in the same way as the score reset bugs, which the dev team are working on etc), the new Commanding Lord of the Minax Faction is Father Ted [Archbishop of, DDi]

When i told Marius(aka Father Ted) that he was now Commanding Lord, his immediate response was 'lol'.. 'ur joking right?' 'ehehehehe', 'um seriously?' - as the backup DDi candidate, Ted was naturally surprised, esp since no one had told him, and he wasn't online when we made the decision to put our votes into his tick-box *grins* yet I am sure will prove a worthy choice as leader of our congregation.

Father Ted has my 100% support as our spiritual leader through these troubled times to restore our faith in Minax and bring the various religious groups together in a holy war against the infidel. As clarification 'the infidel' means all non-Minax, we dominated the shard on our own, from nothing, without the need for allies, and will continue to stand or fall as Minax, and NOT as some lesser component of a larger alliance.

Com Take all 8 Towns - Posted by Harry

A long week of fighting saw the tide of the war turn against Minax with the weekend ending in all 8 towns to COM, and only 2 sigils still available to fight over (brit and magincia). Despite many long hours and stalwart defenses, the council of mages superior numbers of Wyrms and tamers took its toll. Despite, sigils at half mast in com base, and questionable techniques of getting wyrms onto our fortress walls, this is the first time since factions started on Europa where any faction has taken all 8 towns other than Minax, and regardless of their choice of tactics it's no small achievement to do so.

As the tactics of the war change, we must adapt and overcome, CoM struck us at a time when Minax are desperately short of tamers, some of our veteran tamers having changed characters or become inactive, others swapping sides has left us without the means to combat the enemy's reptilian horde, and it's ability to teleport/jump them inside out fortress without the need to break thru our main entrance is something we have yet to find a means to prevent.

Our first step in reversing this has already been taken, my own tamer should be Minax within 2 days, and many of our veteran players are in the process of changing characters to place their tamers into the faction, and as the next 7 days pass we will find ourselves more able to compete against the Wyrm invasions of our base.

Some things of course never change, regardless of where the battle is fought, or how OSI change the scoring system to disscourage resskilling, Shadowlords will be camping aress hut near you.

Sigils at Dawn - Posted by Myst

After a bad weekend for Minax ending in the loss of five towns to Com, it was time for this girl to have some server-up fun *grins* unfortunately the Shadowlords were less than impressed with stealthy expertise. Poor Wijnand must have been kicking himself after failing to take me out alone after my stealth failed on the way out, lil me on my own far too slow to outrun him.

The third shot is of Chem Warfare, after a failed attempt to regain the sigils left the shadowlords with their only thief in statloss and no chance of regaining their sigil anytime soon.

CoM and their buggy Sigils - Posted by Maximus

Today in a server-up raid the CoM tamers and their army of wyrms had little difficulty breaking through mianx defenses today and taking the prized sigils back to CoM HQ.

Later in the day news reached Minax leaders that CoM. or more specifically Lebowski, had been abusing some kind of sigil placement bug, to put their sigils at half-mast, thus easily obscured by boxes.

In response to this the Delucian Special Forces issued an ultimatum to CoM Leaders, stating that until the sigils were restored to their correct alititude, DD1 would engage in full scale noting, box removal and suiciding as encouragement to the CoM leadership to come to their senses - as you can see in the picture to the left, the boxes have already been axed, to expose the bugged sigils for the screenshot.

Will the CoM leadership be able to erect thier sigils to the correct alititude or will they reamin at half mast, unable to get-it-up for the remainder of the day?

Most likey they will remain at half mast until Minax forces storm the base later this evening - either way, watch this space for more reports. Max signing off.

Five sigils secured - Delucia un-bugged! - Posted by Myst

The Fat lady has recently been performing acoustic sets at Delucia and Moonglow as both towns are now un-bugged and are properly under our control, her manager said that whilst she had plans to do a similar set in Magincia, no date has yet been set, and fans should watch this space for the Magincia un-bugged sessions.

The only faction able to lauch an assualt on the fortress today was the shadowlords, and albiet unsuccessful, perhaps it at least signals thier emergence from the ashes of the alliance that has betrayed them so many times in the past. Nice work to Dias da Dammed, Dorien Hawkmoon, GoodGuy and Squeegee for flanking their attack and bringing their raid to a swift conclusion.

The Fat Lady is Singing.. again - Posted by Harry

The rather plump and well fed female is once more on chorus with a rendition of we are the champions, played for the Minax audience as all 8 towns are once more under the red banner of Minax. Victory came on Sunday morning for a determined Minax force as the last remaining towns were painted red with Minax dragoons patrolling the streets.

The problems with Delucia, Moonglow and Magincia remain unsolved so far, for those who do not know, despite being owned by Minax, Delucia is bugged and we cannot access the town stone, and Shadow lord sheriff and Finance Ministers are still in office - a similar situation exists in Moonglow with True Brits remaining in office despite our control of the town, and the income issue in Magincia has yet to be addressed... Despite being reported over 3months ago... the only good news is that when asked, GM Philanthropist and his assistants promised action on all 3 of these issues

So our current government looks something like this, and will change as soon as the Delucia and Moonglow issues are resolved, also note that the Sheriffs of Magincia and Britain will change should their current holders be unavailable when guard support is needed for raids in those towns.

DDi Special Forces Announced - Posted by Kyle

In a new initiative today, The 'DDi Special Forces' Guildstone was placed, with the purpose of combating noto's traitors, box removers, looters and ress-hut campers within the Minax faction. The guild and its members will be resident within the CoM Faction and carry visible guild titles of [Avenger of, DD1] . Harry went to great lengths to say this was NOT another PBK, and that this guilds purpose and mission parameters were not anti-CoM, and that members would restrict their action in and around CoM base to a minimum, and avoid noting CoM members, removing boxes etc

.

In other news today Minax fort held out against several heavy White Wrym lead assaults, in each of which the enemy tamers somehow managed to get their wyrms to fly over the walls and into the Minax fortress ahead of the attack. Several sources have suggested this involves some kind of fly-mode-bug but as yet there has been no request of GM involvement.

The Anti-Minax Alliance lost most of what they won during the week, as Minax are once more controlling six towns, leaving TB and SL without a town at all, and CoM holding onto Trinsic and Skara showing yet again that through teamwork and dedication one faction can triumph alone against the odds, and that faction is Minax.

Alliance wins ground against Minax - Posted by Harry

Alone against the forces of all 3 enemy factions Minax continues to lose towns. Despite it taking the alliance several hours to take the Fortress, and Minax counterattacks breaking through the alliance defenses in a matter of minutes, the allies have so far always managed to rally to each other's support and catch Minax between their forces denying them any success so far.

Can Minax recover the losses, or will the tri-faction alliance prove too much for a single faction to defeat. CoM leaders certainly seemed confident of their place as the most dominant faction, taking the lion's share of the towns captured from Minax as the weekend draws to a close.

Rules of Engagement - Posted by Harry Sunday 9th April

Now follows a suggested set of Rules of Engagement for Minax forces.

1. Respect the sanctury of the Ress-Hut. If newly ressurected enemies ress at the healers, and remain there long enough to regenerate enough mana for a recall from a runebook and then do so - i DO NOT expect them to be resskilled.

If they chose to run the 100 yard dash to their horse or to hide next to their corpse and race you to the loot, tell you how they rox etc, you may open fire with my blessing, also if you chose to allow enemies to walk the field and collect their horse or gate them out it is personal choice.

2. Warhorses, Nightmares, and Frenzied ostards are a weapons. Killing them is personal choice, but i have ansolutely np with it, and encourage it. They would kill yours were the roles reversed.

As a note, warhorses are the only real gain most people get out of controlling towns, only 16 people can have a faction job, yet all can accumilate silver and buy a horse IF their faction owns a town - maybe the loss of a few horse will encourage them to attack us more often to take towns.

3. Normal Horses, Llama's, Ostards are not weapons. Kill them if they are within base, blocking, or belong to notos or traitors. There is nothing to gain from killing random blue horses, so dont.

Com Base Stormed.. Deja Vu? - Posted by Harry Sunday 9th April

After early-doors sigils thieves robbed our treasured baubles, Minax forces mustered up at HQ to reclaim the stolen goods from the COM Base. Withdrawing into our base to discuss the plan, within 2mins of making it, I was forwarded an icq from our enemies detailing their knowledge of it... traitors in our midst.. nm we continued on.

With all 3 enemy faction arrayed against us in an alliance of defense it was not surprising many Minax were debating the wisdom of an attack. Yet despite even odds, our enemy playing at home, and knowing of our plan to target the roof, we gated into magincia and lagged. I was so lagged I ran over a poison trap and died before anyone could even cast cure, let alone get a cursor and hit me with it!

The next three hours were hard work. Long and bitter fighting on both bridges together with skirmishes to our rear as lone scorewhores kept hiding in the ress-hut to kill the casualties of war. (Nice screenie of SL's commanding lord getting himself some easy points at the hut)

As the battle progressed our refusal to withdraw despite heavy losses in both men and beasts - several Minax dismounted to send in there war-horses (including myself) at one point, we did not give up - such was our determination to achieve victory.

The turning point came as the enemy put so much faith in our plan to storm the roof that they weakened their defenses on the north bridge to bolster the south, and seizing the opportunity offered, the hero of the day 'Good Guy' charged inside the base and turned the battle in our favor, enabling us to capture and remove the sigils whilst most of the enemy continued to battle our forces on the south bridge.

Sigils were then taken under armed guard to our fortress, and after a force of TBs were beaten off in the papua marshes, they were put back where they belong - in Minax base, on Minax monoliths, surrounded by Minax troops.

Oooops there goes Europa - Warped back to when CoM had the sigils... DeJa Vu? Well back to work for the troops, I logged on dead, most of us were in loss, but no rest for the wicked, and in a brief battle we retook the prize we fought so hard for hours before. Fate was not so kind to Chris tho, the resskiller pictured above... Payback, as they say, is a bitch.

When DDi quit Minax En-masse together with SyN and others, it was no easy task to take over the mantle of Commanding Lord, yet to both Duke and Kalissa I wanna say not only thankyou for keeping the Minax team alive in my abscence, but also thankyou for allowing me to return to the faction as i left it - as Commanding Lord with all 8 towns captured, all availble sigils in base, and the best team any leader of men could have the privilidge of commanding.

We Started Capturing towns on Day1, Week1, when did you first take yours?

From day one of factions Minax has taken a leading role in the faction wars of Europa, we were the first faction to capture any towns (5 towns were ours by day2), we were the first faction to have any kind of organization or team work with an effective set of faction thieves. We have always been the 2nd smallest faction, but have never let the enemies superior numbers diminish our teamplay or our success.
