Archived news from Factions on Europa, this period spans the months of Minax domination, the grief wars, and the rise and fall of the 'commanding lords agrements'. Start reading from the bottom up - awkward i know but.. well they were written that way ;-)

Things are looking up for Factions

After several talks with GM Philanthopist, on various issues, I have to say that at least one of the GMs on the team is prepared to go the extra distance with us on the factions issues. In answer to a call primarily about miss-placed traps, we are beginning to get some face-to-face support from the GM team at last, instead of the 'You have recieved a message GM_Faceless tells you yada yada.'

On the traps issue, the GM team policy is non-removal, yet Phil was as forthcoming as he was able to be - The picci below is a link to part of the conversation we had at one of our strangely placed trap locations. Yes it it edited a little - mainly to fit it onto a page, if you wanna read take a look.

The GM team are becomming more aware of the consiquences of not involving themselves in the grief-wars, they know each faction has the potential to escalate the conflict and generate more calls that the GM team can do without. He assured me his team WILL act against the greifers, and asked us to continue to make the calls, to give them ammunition to make things happen. Lets make sure its the other factions who's griefers suffer for this - I want minax to be beyond reproach, so lets play within the rules, log a blue to scout, or to gate out our ghosts - not to noto or block please.

So next time you see [ImP] n crew at base or blues blatently interfereing in battles, place a call, and name the character(s) involved.

GM Philanthopist tells PImP members its game over for griefing

GM Philanthropist told these two pimp griefers that they would face banning if they continued to interefere in faciton play, particularly against the Minax faction. This goes to show what can happen if YOU place calls about morons like [ImP] - The two main members Smooth Criminal and Anceint Monkey have already been banned before - time and time again they have been asked to stop... so next time they start their shit, place a call ;-)

In other news GoodGuys 'one-man and his dragons' high sea's antics have taken down a few more CoM who really should know better than to mess with the Mianx navy by now ;-)

CLs Agreement Changed - SL storm out of Meeting - HH

Today after a troubled week Minax command went to the third Commanding Lords meeting hoping to get something a little more realistic for Minax than the previous deal. Listening to concerns of the faction, over both server-up raids on our sigils and allowing alliances against us, we were unsure if any deal could be reached at all.

However, after some fierce discussion, several parts of the treaty were altered. The biggest change was the revert back to the old statement on alliances - thou shalt not ally - at all, against other factions. The server up time remains the same, although we have added a provision for the return of sigils, AND a no-raid time equivalent to the hours lost IF a faction is hit by server-up thieves.

Since we had been hit by server-up raids twice now on Delucia and minoc - this was a fine time to test the level of commitment on this issue - would the other factions agree to let their corruption period pass uncontested, CoM and TB said yes... however SL in an atmosphere already sour after they brought two of peeps in the picture below to the meeting, refused to hand over the Delucia sigil, and as they received word Minax were raiding they stormed out of the meeting hurling capslock abuse at us.

So the meeting closed with an agreement signed by Minax CoM and TB, that excludes SL - this means we can expect SL to steal out of hours, and perhaps to once more begin to use features like wall hopping dragons etc. - this may sound bad, yet should they get their hands on a sigil... we are free to use any and all means to retake it from them at any time.

They will return to the negotiating table... or not - their choice.

Agreement in tatters - HH

The picture says it all really - last weeks SL Commanding Lord and crew, stealing Brit sigil at 0355 saturday night / sunday morning. With no intention to keep it for long, sinply seeking to dissupt it just to 'piss off minax' it seems what's left of the ShodowLord faction is nothing more than trash-talking, resskilling losers, who can only hope to win a faction fight after their enemies have logged off in the vain hope the agreement not to steal might be honoured.

It's late night right now, and not the time to make judgement calls, but i see little future in the agreement lasting the weekind, yet after tonight, with regard to the SL, the agreement is over already.

Agreement close to breaking - HH

The commanding lords agreement has so far been seriously tested and many say is close to breaking point. The enemy faction too full advantage to the allying clauses, immediately faction-ganking Minax, with no prior attempts at solo raids, followed by TB sending troops to assist CoM while Minax attacked - a blatant breach of the arrangement, which although they apologized afterwards, did little to drum up enthusiasm amongst Minax members for an agreement the leadership were already having a hard time selling.

Having no trouble regaining sigils from CoM and SL Minax hit a wall of little red boxes at TB base for 24hours, not helped by the drawbridge (which has been removed on almost all other shards). When asked how TB leadership though we should actually gain entrance without employing box removes, they raised the drawbridge for 15mins or so... this box festival will be something Minax will be taking to the commanding lords meeting this weekend.

In other breaches of the agreement, TBs have been bugging dragons though floors, and have server-upped Minax twice so far, disrupting what should have been a placement of 6 sigils, into a placement of 3, then 2, then (hopefully) 1. Also as many will have noticed our enemies continue to sign on traitors to Minax, not least of which is the phantom trap placer who is placing Minax traps in lame places to take up our allowance. Last but not least the week long ress-killing festival at Brit healers seems to have been much worse after the agreement than before it - TBs Queuing to take turns resskilling for points.

In communication with the TBs Minax leadership were very short of words

"Dragon hopping, resskilling, empty promises, backstabbing on raids... I'm not from trammel guys, and i had about enough of being nice to last me a lifetime. Being nice got me nowhere, we (Minax) gave you the world in that treaty - EVERYTHING you asked for - alliances, no server up, no bugs in base, no grief, all your requests... Yet STILL the miserable TB bastards will not fucking abide by it!!!!! What the hell do you take us for?"

When asked about the specifics TBs response was meaningless, and evasive.

"Quit that ffs! Vertigo is something I do NOT wish to discuss here since we already discussed it before. It is a SENSELESS discussion anyway, because we say he didn't use bugs you say he did etc. blab bla bla."

That is not to say Minax have been flawless - one of our thieves did steal one sigil out of hours, yet stacked against the numerous infringements by TBs, the general Minax feeling is that their abuse of this treaty is like looking a gift horse in the mouth, and if they cannot honor a deal that so obviously favors them more than us the future of the deal is not good.

New Commanding Lords Agreement ----> HERE

News in Brief, Minax continue to control all eight cities, and show no signs of weakening. The commanding lords of the four factions met once more, and modified the agreement to include some provision for alliances, they will meet again next week.

Harry is once more Commanding Lord, and is damn proud once more to lead the best team on the shard.

Peace in our time?? Or more grief... - HH

Amidst the massive ammount of Peace Us Sanct propganda posts under his many pseudonames on the various boards, there have been some more serious posts by poeple who genuinely want an end to this latest wave of grief-play directed at the Mianx faction, thoughout which peace and crew have continued to noto and harrass us, despite posting to the contrary on the boards.

So what has changed?

Well first off there has been a meeting, hosted by Elminster, and attended by the leading players and commanding lords of all four factions out of which has come a blueprint for a new 'Agreement'. Although details are not at this stage available, the main thrust of the deal is an end to grief-play, alliances, hut camping, and bug/feature abuse to obtain sigils.

Also, with regard to PBK, the OSI support staff are well aware of the danger of escalation on our part if nothing is done, and GM_Philanthropist has now, on three seperate occasions both in-game and via E-mail assured me that the GM team on Europa is taking the grief-play issue seriously and will be putting an end to it. Peace and friends time is now running out, they can either stop griefing, or they will be stopped.

News Just In... 4 Faction Alliance?? - Pandora DDi

SL TB and CoM have just bugged dragons into the fort, peace has blocked and transfered dragons to enemy tamers outside. All 3 factions are in on this, not a single one is innocent, no one tried killing peace even when she was grey. Start the grief play now, i'm certainly gonna do as many serverup raids as i can.

...first therre was a few sl running around outside, peace was busy setting her dragons on greys in the crypts, tried to get brave a couple of times, no joy. Then TB and SLcame together, she passed several dragons over the walls to marnon and other tamers, as did vegeta. The tamers outside set the dragons on people inside, we didnt stand a chance, every single dragon apart from maybe 2 inside the fort was orange and the lag was horrible.

Then com came in to SL base, by this time they were all up in the sigil room passing the sigils round between the 3 factions. peace didnt get attacked by a single person, i have a couple of pictures but nothing too clear. Vegeta died to an orange dragon. (ha) we did a brit raid as soon as they'd gone and got 3 sigils back but only yew made it to the base, sl came as we were heading out and once again were allied with tb.

All 3 factions are allied against us regardless of what they say. in fact its a 4 way alliance with all the grief players in minax. Even our own faction is against us I've told people i'm going to do server up raids now and others will too. I suggest we grief them as much as possible, i was against it before but after today we really have no option. I would say com is less guilty that the others, they had a much smaller presence on the raid but tb and sl are totally working together - DDi Pandora, rant over.

Well... it been ages since i updated, omg am i glad to be back on a desktop at last!

Minax are once more in control of the shard, BraveDuke is our current Commanding Lord, takeing over after Ashen the Wise to whom we all owe a debt of gratitude for some very fine work over his terms of office.

ShadowLords are utterly defeated, as their strongest guild [MoX] resigns the stone to move on, what's left of their leadership has or is in the process of, joining Minax to noto us all, in an attempt to copy the infamous PBK operation a few months ago.

True Brits are kinda quiet at the moment, although they are the only faction aside from ourselves to honor the commanding lords agreement set up as Ashen took office.

Council of Mages are currently large in numbers, although have yet to have any towns to show for their trouble.

In other News, the DDi Real Life Pictures site has a few new! mugshots, and you can expect to see this news page updated regularly again *touch wood* - I've been asked to set upa 'KOS' (kill on sight) part of this site so peeps know which minax/blues not to trust, and who to gank when they are grey, but i have yet to even make a start on that one yet, so for now, thats all folks - HH.

6 Towns to Minax & Piracy in Minoc - Posted by Harry

Both Yew and Delucia corrupted this morning, making it six towns to minax - leaving the faction who has demonstrated zero respect for the treaty with zero towns. It has to be said there were no serious server-up raids though some SL scouts were seen, no attack happend in time to threaten the sigils.

In other news, Minax began to extend their contorl of towns to include territorial waters within them - here you see Azure helping himself to the cargo of an impounded ore merchant, none too happy about the whole affair ;-)

As our enemies break deals Minax takes towns- Posted by Harry

After a hard fought battle to take them, and a long day spent defending, the shiney lil sigils finally had been corrupted by the followers of Minax, placing Minax, once more, the dominant power on the Shard, proving what we already know, that without allying against us, Minax remains the dominant faction no matter how large or small our numbers.

Sadly the reccent deal, posted by Marnon, CL of SL, on behlaf of the other factions, seems to be in danger of collapsing already. I have to admit that Myst was feeling restless this morning at server-up, but she behaved herself, unlike the TB theives who robbed Delucia and Yew at server up, she didnt get herself killed in SL sigil room sith sigls either, all in the 'spirit' of the deal, whilst at the same time SL were floor hopping in defence, bugging dragons over walls and ress-killing their hearts out.

Ashen the Wise Takes over as CL - Posted by Harry

This week sees a change in Minax command with Ashen the Wise taking over the commanding lord title as for the second time I (Harry) need some time off. This isn't news to most of you, but was kept reasonably quiet over icq with no big announcements.

As GM of HoH, a guild that has been Minax since day one, Ashen has a good guild behind him and is respected as a loyal, and long time member of the the faction. Of all the people who we considered for the role of CL after i stepped down, though many were asked, only Ashen was prepared to volunteer the time and commitment that the Job demands.

Under Ashen I am assured that the Minax Vs the Shard approach will continue, and we will not stoop so low as to ally or make deals with our enemies that would lessen the glory of our victories to come. DDi and I support Ashen in this policy, and as Commanding Lord of Minax

In other News, the plague of regs buyers with pack animals continues in Occlo Felucca, only stemmed by the few dedicated members of the Delucian Mafia who say NO to newbys bringin their pack horses from trammel to the Feluccan regs shops.

Geoffrey seemed stunned by the turn of events that laft him short of 4000 or so regs, so much so that instead of attacking an overburdend grey Llama Slayer, he stood there and explained how the GMs would punish the evil Llama killer... who, by the time Geofrey had finished, had turned blue & stashed the loot in the bank .

Much web based stuff has being going on at the Minax and DDi sites, we have moved to a new host - a move we hope will be permanent, and should give faster access to the site, and a ping of 3 if you believe what Morgana says about BlueYonder Cable;-)

The Old news is now archived in Chapters, both linked above *points at top of page*, to make room for the news that has not yet happened!

DDi have taken the *insane* step into the void that is Real - Life pictures, as many techies say the problem lies between the keyboard and the seat, so next time you see DDi race around the corner after your sigils, you can put a face to your problem ;-)

Current state of Factions is SL & TB seem to be the largest, CoM, despite having reasonable numbers still seem to be on holiday, leaving Minax the smallest set against the Alliance - says a lot about us when the two largest faction still need to ally to defeat us, the smallest... doesn't say much about them though....

We Started Capturing towns on Day1, Week1, when did you first take yours?

From day one of factions Minax has taken a leading role in the faction wars of Europa, we were the first faction to capture any towns (5 towns were ours by day2), we were the first faction to have any kind of organization or team work with an effective set of faction thieves. We have always been the 2nd smallest faction, but have never let the enemies superior numbers or army of notos diminish our teamplay or our success.

If the news here seems slightly biased... it;s supposed to be!! This is a Minax site, for Minax players, and covers news of interest to Minax, Glosses over our defeats & Glorifies our victories - Just like Uo.War Does for the other factions, so this site does for Minax! Difference is WE admit it!!!
